Also mother of Xiaolu Long, a high school student in New Zealand. Mrs. Lu went to Beijing to appeal during the New Year period of 2000. Unfortunately she was arrested and sent to Sichuan for imprisonment without trial. During this period, her husband, Dai Long, was forced to pay a fine of 8000 RMB (RMB is the Chinese monetary unit, one RMB is about 0.12 US dollar. Her husband's company was also fined 10,000 RMB without any reason. Subsequently, their house telephone was taped. Mrs. Lu was arrested again in January 2001 for her attempt to appeal for Falun Gong, together with Ms. Long, who was still in China at that time. She was illegally detained for two months before she was sentenced to one year of forced labour at the Zizhong Nanmusi women labour camp in Sichuan Province. Ms. Long was released after one week of illegal detention since she was then regarded as a minor. Mrs. Lu's husband was again forced to pay a large sum of money as fine when Ms. Long was released and later when Mrs. Lu was released. Mrs. Lu and her husband were both arrested on 29th September 2002 at work. Her husband was later released on bail one day later due to the efforts of his colleagues. Mrs. Lu has been put in a jail in Sichuan Pi County since 1st October 2002. Both Mrs. Lu's home phone and her husband's cell phone were taped. According to Ms. Long's experience when she was in detention in China, Falun Gong practitioners are brutally tortured by police, and they are usually robbed of their belongs and left without food and drink for a length of time frequently.
2001-06-04:广州外经贸委干部古婉美，春节期间在市区做说明大法真相工作时，被抓入广州魔穴＂水荫路收容所＂，因拒绝说出姓名、单位，受到非法折磨，随即绝食48天，人瘦得连家人都几乎无法认出。后被单位想法认出领回后，邪恶＂610＂及单位帮凶竟不顾她生命垂危，继续关押在湖天宾馆，由单位二人陪同强制＂转化＂。当再度遭到古婉美严词拒绝后，邪恶＂610＂下令判两年劳教，现已送槎头女子劳教所。
